During the month of April 2012, we commissioned South African based, New Resolution Geophysics (“NRG”) to carry out an Airborne Magnetic and Radiometric Survey. A total of 1416 line-km, oriented at 040° to 220° (magnetic) and spaced at 100 m intervals were surveyed.
Airborne Magnetics delineated the banded iron formation (“BIF”) as well as a series of linear northwest-southeast trending non-continuous magnetic lows. These magnetic lows may reflect either zones of demagnetization associated with hydrothermal mineralizing events, or lithological facies changes.
Airborne Radiometrics defines domains underlain by metavolcanic and metasedimentary rocks. as well as mafic dykes. In addition, a northeast striking mafic dyke and a number of faults trending about 350° have been identified.
